Welcome to Almosta Ranch - home of the Petersens- Will, Erik, Ross, Diane and Charlie
Diane and I found ourselves at Almosta Ranch in 2009 after visiting Steamboat for ten years. We told Diane’s father that “this is our ranch”, and he replied “you mean this is almosta-ranch”. The name stuck.
We have created this site for family and friends and hope to build it up as time goes by. You might find your picture here.
Our 5 horses are all American Bashkir Curlies. They are curly for sure, but also hypoallergenic for those like Charlie who would sneeze and wheeze otherwise. We have 5 goats as well which makes for a crazy amount of activity!
Home
This is our home in the Fall. The house was designed by Ian Wagner. We also need to thank Accredited Investors in Edina, MN who gave us the “permission’ to pursue our dreams. They were instrumental to us
Our ranch is seen from Mt Baldy below to the left of the tree and beyond Lake Catamount.
Hay harvest time in the Fall
Looking up from Lake Catamount you can see both the house and the barn/family house.
Hay season below is a beautiful time of the year!
Beautiful Fall day
From this angle you can see the round pen for working horses, our house, Lake Catamount and Mt Baldy beyond.
The view below is of the ski resort in October with morning clouds in-between.
